High temperatures can put extra strain on your heart, especially if you live with health conditions. As the hot weather continues:

💧 Stay hydrated.
🌳 Keep cool and avoid the hottest part of the day.
🚶 Exercise during the cooler hours of the day.
❤️ Check in on older relatives, neighbours, and anyone at higher risk.

A few simple precautions can help protect your heart all summer long.

This summer, the tobacco and vaping industry are marketing e-cigarettes as fun, social, and part of the experience...

But vaping is not harmless.

In fact, regular e-cigarette users are almost 2 times more likely to have a heart attack than non-smokers.

Don't fall for the marketing. Choose your health over their profits.

Vacations, festivals, and parties can make drinking seem like part of the season. But just because it feels common doesn't mean it's safe.

Alcohol can:
💔 Impair judgment and decision-making
💔 Increase risky behaviors
💔 Raise the risk of accidents and injuries
💔 Raise the risk of diseases, including heart disease

Hot weather makes it even riskier. Alcohol promotes dehydration and makes it harder for your body to regulate its temperature, increasing the risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Stay hydrated, look out for your friends, and make choices that help you enjoy the summer safely.

As extreme heat becomes more frequent and intense, the greatest burden will fall on the most vulnerable.

Stay safe in the heat, check on your loved ones, and raise your voice for policies that make your community safer and healthier as temperatures continue to rise.

🌡️ Extreme temperatures are affecting communities across the world, and the risks are real.

Heatstroke is a medical emergency that occurs when the body can no longer regulate its temperature. Without immediate treatment, it can become fatal.

Recognizing the warning signs could save a life.

For many people, living with congenital heart disease doesn’t stop after childhood surgery. It often continues into adulthood, with ongoing monitoring, further procedures, and/or lifelong medication still part of their care journey.

The #WorldHeartReport 2026 highlights this lifelong reality and the need for stronger support for everyone living with CHD ❤️

1 in 3 deaths among women are caused by cardiovascular disease. Yet women are still too often misdiagnosed, with heart disease symptoms overlooked or mistaken for anxiety.

At our #WHA79 side-events in May, we explored the critical link between women and heart health. Dr Taskeen Khan explained that the tendency to attribute women’s physical complaints to mental illness has its roots in the history of ‘hysteria’.
