Prompt Action saved the Life
It was during my Gym activity in Hotel Radisson Blu, New Delhi on 6th September. When I was on my Treadmill, I observed one gentleman who had just completed his Treadmill activity proceeded for muscle building exercise. Suddenly, I heard screaming of the instructor for a help. I saw in my mirror the same gentleman swinging on the chair and the other person was trying to hold him from falling. I stopped the Treadmill with emergency stop and proceeded to the scene. The man was about to fall with rolling his eyes upwards with no palpable pulse and sign of respiration. By that time another fellow in the Gym appeared. I helped them to allow the victim to lie down on the floor safe. It could be a case of either Syncope or Cardiac arrest. While loosening his clothes and trying to palpate his carotid pulse, I called him loudly. As there was no palpable pulse, I immediately started CPR and noticed a feeble pulse. Fortunately, after a while, I could see him returning to a confused state. Not aware what was happening, he tried to sit down which I refused to allow and asked the instructor to ring the emergency alarm and to call for medical help. The victim when tried to sit down forcibly, felt unconscious again. I repeated the same . Fortunately, the emergency team arrived and he was shifted to a neighbouring hospital where he was stabilized. It came out to be a case of ACS with total occlusion of RCA. My timely action could save agreat life.
