The World Heart Federation (WHF) proudly represented the global cardiovascular community at the 152<\/span>nd<\/span> session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Executive Board from 30 January to 07 February in Geneva.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Led by Diana Vaca McGhie, Chair of its Advocacy Committee, the WHF delegation delivered two constituency statements on <\/span>Preparedness for and Response to Health Emergencies<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Universal Health Coverage<\/span><\/a> on behalf of the Global Coalition for Circulatory Health. In particular, the GCCH requested Member States to:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n WHF also delivered a series of individual statements on heart-related items such as the <\/span>WHO Best Buys<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Substandard and Falsified Medicines<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Cardiac Rehabilitation<\/span><\/a>,<\/span> Well-Being<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>Social Determinants of Health<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Following the debates, the WHO Executive Board decided to recommend a number of resolutions for adoption at the Seventy-Sixth World Health Assembly, including texts on <\/span>Universal Health Coverage<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Strengthening Diagnostics Capacity<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>Strengthening Rehabilitation in Health Systems<\/span><\/a>. In particular, the WHO resolution on diagnostics acknowledges the importance of medical devices for the diagnosis of cardiovascular conditions.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n
