The 2023 Emerging Leaders<\/a> cohort, which includes candidates from 19 countries across 5 continents, has been announced.<\/p>\n The World Heart Federation created the WHF Salim Yusuf Emerging Leaders Programme to form and develop a long-term cadre of experts who collaborate, research, and act to reduce premature mortality from cardiovascular disease globally. The Programme, designed by Dr Salim Yusuf in 2014, provides training and networking opportunities in cardiovascular health policy<\/a> and implementation research<\/a> for healthcare practitioners, researchers, and global health advocates.<\/p>\n Focusing on a different priority area each year, the objective of the training module is to reduce the global burden of cardiovascular disease<\/a> in line with\u00a0UN Sustainable Development Goal 3.4<\/strong><\/a>.
