{"id":18471,"date":"2024-10-02T18:51:11","date_gmt":"2024-10-02T16:51:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/world-heart-federation.org\/?post_type=news&#038;p=18471"},"modified":"2024-10-07T11:53:55","modified_gmt":"2024-10-07T09:53:55","slug":"roadmap-for-developing-the-strategic-plan-of-the-pan-american-health-organization-2026-2031","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/world-heart-federation.org\/news\/roadmap-for-developing-the-strategic-plan-of-the-pan-american-health-organization-2026-2031\/","title":{"rendered":"Roadmap for developing the strategic plan of the pan american health organization 2026-2031"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"ui-provider a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak\" dir=\"ltr\"><i><strong>This statement was delivered by Ms. Fernanda de Carvalho, our Advocacy Committee member for PAHO, at the Seventy-Sixth Session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Americas<\/strong><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>SEVENTY-SIXTH SESSION OF THE REGIONAL COMMITTEE FOR THE AMERICAS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>AGENDA ITEM 8.1<\/p>\n<p>Honourable Chair,<\/p>\n<p>Distinguished Delegates,<\/p>\n<p>The World Heart Federation commends the World Health Organization and its Member States for their Roadmap<em>.<\/em> We welcome the opportunity for a new Strategic Plan that aligns with the <em>Sustainable Development Goals<\/em>, particularly targets 3.4 and 3.a, the <em>Sustainable Health Agenda for the Americas 2018-2030<\/em>, and the <em>World Health Organization\u2019s Fourteenth General Programme of Work 2025-2028<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>We applaud WHO and its Member States for the successful implementation of the <em>Hearts in the Americas<\/em> initiative and the significant progress made to date. Nonetheless, we urge all governments to maintain and strengthen their commitment to the programme in the next Strategic Plan.
