Last Monday 19 January 2015, the World Heart Federation took part in the launch of the WHO \u201cGlobal status report on noncommunicable diseases 2014\u201d. This global status report on prevention and control of NCDs \u2013 to which the World Heart Federation contributed \u2013 is framed around the nine voluntery global targets. The report provides data on the current situation, advises on how to scale up national efforts to attain the targets and presents case-studies of successful country and regional action, to demonstrate how implementation barriers could be overcome.<\/p>\n
This report is very important for the World Heart Federation as the organization has made the first global target of a 25% reduction of \u00a0premature deaths from NCD\u2019s by 2025, \u00a0its overarching goal in relation to CVD mortality.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Johanna Ralston, CEO of the World Heart Federation, explained that \u201cWHF welcomes the new WHO report on NCDs, including contributions from our leadership team. Essential to work together to achieve 25×25.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
