{"id":2231,"date":"2015-02-26T09:43:00","date_gmt":"2015-02-26T09:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/world-heart-federation.org\/news\/cvd-and-the-development-agenda-advocacy-toolkit\/"},"modified":"2023-01-12T15:36:04","modified_gmt":"2023-01-12T14:36:04","slug":"cvd-and-the-development-agenda-advocacy-toolkit","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/world-heart-federation.org\/news\/cvd-and-the-development-agenda-advocacy-toolkit\/","title":{"rendered":"CVD and the Development Agenda: Advocacy Toolkit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The World Heart Federation has the pleasure of launching a <a title=\"TEXT, WHF CVD and Development Advocacy Toolkit, WHF_CVD_and_Development_Advocacy_Toolkit.pdf, 657 KB\" href=\"https:\/\/www.world-heart-federation.org\/fileadmin\/user_upload\/documents\/Advocacy\/WHF_CVD_and_Development_Advocacy_Toolkit.pdf\">new advocacy resource <\/a>to help Members campaign for global action on CVD prevention and control.<\/p>\n<p>2015 continues to be an incredibly important year for the cardiovascular health community: the global negotiations on the post-2015 sustainable agenda continue apace. As we write, the proposed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have almost been finalised and look set to replace the Millennium Development Goals in this September.<\/p>\n<p>While we are confident that CVD and NCDs will be recognised by the Sustainable Development Goals (largely thanks to the existing and continuing advocacy efforts of our Members) we are adamant that more must be done to secure CVD as a priority area in 2015 and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>This resource will equip World Heart Federation Members with the guidance and tools needed to fortify or initiate advocacy campaigns at the national level:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Introduction \u2013 gives you all the important information about the SDG process<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Advocacy Guide \u2013 gives you strategies and tips for launching a campaign<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Key Messages \u2013 gives you advice on how to communicate advocacy asks<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Factsheet \u2013 gives you a printable resource for advocating online or in person<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Advocacy Check-list \u2013 gives you comprehensive list of things to achieve<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Sample Newsletter \u2013 gives you a template document to spread the word<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Sample Letter to Governments \u2013 gives you a template to make an impact at national level.<\/p>\n<p>The toolkit is now available to the general\u00a0public, and can also be found\u00a0in the Members area of our website.
