It will take place alongside the bi-annual Congress of the APSC, to be held from 13-15 July.<\/p>\n<p>This Second Global Summit will build on the success of the First Summit, which was held alongside the 2016 World Congress of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Health in Mexico City.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The No1 Killer: The case for urgent action<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Heart disease and stroke remain the world\u2019s foremost causes of premature death despite being largely preventable through reducing known risk factors. Diseases of the circulatory system are concentrated in low- and middle-income countries, where over 80% of premature deaths due to heart and stroke occur.<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #008080\">Without urgent action, the global burden of CVD will further increase.\u00a0If current trends continue, there will be over:<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How can we create a greater sense of urgency when we\u2019re dealing with the world\u2019s number one killer?
