The Children in the City project in Romania has been developed by the World Heart Federation (WHF) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), in partnership with the Romanian Heart Foundation, to promote physical activity in children aged 7 to 12 living in low-income urban neighbourhoods.

Children in six schools in Bucharest, Cluj and Timisoara are now being encouraged to ‘Be Active, Love Your Heart’. Thirty-eight teachers have been trained on the importance of physical activity and how to bring it to life in schools, and a toolkit has been developed to support all those involved.
