The Alliance has been established by a group of reputed, pan-India organizations, including a number of World Heart Federation members, committed to NCD prevention and control. Through their involvement, the Healthy India Alliance will make the civil society voice stronger and add credibility to NCD-related campaigns in India.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the inaugural consultation, Professor Srinath Reddy, Past President of the World Heart Federation, President of the Public Health Foundation of India and Governing Board member of the new Alliance, commented:
\n\u201cThe role of the Healthy India Alliance is to catalyze NCD prevention in the country by providing a platform for health and non-health organizations to partner for collaborative civil society action on NCDs under the Sustainable Development Goals.
