This will be the first World Congress of Cardiology under a new model, which will see the congress taking place every year, rather than every two years, in collaboration with another cardiology meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The main spotlight of the Paris congress will be <strong>Global Health<\/strong>. \u201cWe decided to focus on this theme because non-communicable diseases \u2013 which include cardiovascular disease \u2013 are now also becoming the main cause of death and disability in lower-\/middle-income countries,\u201d said ESC\u2019s Professor Marco Roffi. \u201cThe spotlight also fits perfectly with the fact that next year the ESC congress and the World Congress of Cardiology of the World Heart Federation will be held together. What a great opportunity!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.world-heart-federation.org\/congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World Congress of Cardiology<\/a> has always represented a unique opportunity to focus on areas that are not necessarily included in the major regional meetings, including countries with emerging economies, and how we can approach CVD-related problems in these countries. We look forward to working closely with the ESC on what is sure to be a remarkable global meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The joint WCC\/ESC congress will be held from August 31<sup>st<\/sup> to September 4<sup>th<\/sup> at the Paris Convention Centre \u2013 Europe\u2019s largest conference venue. This exciting location sees the science of the heart being discussed in the heart of Paris. The convention centre is just 15 minutes from the Eiffel Tower on the Rive Gauche and close to Paris\u2019 many cultural attractions.
