With these calls, the NTD-SC seeks proposals that are nested within national programs and which establish a foundation for integrating NTD-related activities into national health systems. Projects will be funded with UK aid through the UK Department for International Development via the NTD-SC, which serves as Secretariat for the Coalition for Operational Research on NTDs (COR-NTD).<\/p>\n<p>Please note that strict deadlines are in place tor both proposal submissions and selected research activities, based on the timeline of the grant supporting the call. The deadline for all four calls is\u00a0<strong>February 7, 2020<\/strong>, at midnight EST. All research activities, analysis, and final technical\/financial reports for selected research projects must be concluded and submitted by<strong>\u00a027 February 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Request for Proposals: Research to Better Understand the Psychosocial Impact of NTDs<\/h2>\n<p>The outcomes of this request for proposals (RFP) will strengthen the evidence base about the psychosocial impact of NTDs on individuals and their caregivers.\u00a0\u00a0The NTDs which will be considered for this call include: leprosy, lymphatic filariasis, onchocerciasis, schistosomiasis, trachoma, and visceral leishmaniasis. For more information, click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntdsupport.org\/news\/request-proposals-research-better-understand-psychosocial-impact-ntds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Request for Proposals: Research to Identify Solutions to Address Barriers Facing Special Populations Seeking NTD Prevention &amp; Treatment<\/h2>\n<p>The outcomes of this request for proposals (RFP) will strengthen the evidence base by identifying the causes and piloting solutions that break through the barriers these special populations face in accessing NTD services. The NTDs which will be considered for this call include: leprosy, lymphatic filariasis, onchocerciasis, schistosomiasis, trachoma, and visceral leishmaniasis. Additionally, developing community engagement strategies can help to reduce some of the social stigma that individuals face when seeking care for leprosy.
