{"id":3054,"date":"2020-05-13T11:30:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-13T10:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/world-heart-federation.org\/news\/whos-walk-the-talk-health-for-all-challenge-goes-virtual\/"},"modified":"2021-04-30T19:20:12","modified_gmt":"2021-04-30T18:20:12","slug":"whos-walk-the-talk-health-for-all-challenge-goes-virtual","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/world-heart-federation.org\/news\/whos-walk-the-talk-health-for-all-challenge-goes-virtual\/","title":{"rendered":"WHO&#8217;s Walk the Talk: Health for All Challenge goes virtual!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The World Health Organization (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/\">WHO)<\/a> is taking the third <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/news-room\/events\/detail\/2020\/05\/16\/default-calendar\/walk-the-talk-the-health-for-all-challenge\">Walk the Talk: The Health for All Challenge<\/a> virtual this year, which\u00a0will be held over <strong>16-17 May 2020<\/strong> with people invited to join in from their homes wherever they are located in the world.<\/p>\n<p>In light of COVID-19, Walk the Talk offers an even more global platform to <strong>promote health and well-being for people all over the world<\/strong>. This first-time virtual event will include <strong>fun physical activities, cooking demonstrations and health information sessions<\/strong> with health experts on topics ranging from physical and mental health to nutrition and healthy ageing.<\/p>\n<p>The event will run like an online virtual global relay, <strong>connecting WHO Regional and Country offices around the world<\/strong> <strong>on 16 May before returning to Geneva 24 hours later on 17 May<\/strong>, the opening day of the 73rd World Health Assembly.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"post-10674 media-10674\" class=\"align-center break-container\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.world-heart-federation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/walk-the-talk-1024x380.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>The events kick-off in WHO&#8217;s Regional Office in the Western Pacific at 9:00 am local time in Manila and will feature activities from each of our regional offices in Delhi, Brazzaville, Cairo, Copenhagen, and Washington DC. Then, on Sunday, 17 May, Walk the Talk will arrive in Geneva at WHO Headquarters starting at 11:00 am.<\/p>\n<p>The event will offer opportunities for people to participate in a variety of virtual, timed events \u2013 yoga, exercise classes for all ages and abilities, meditation, walking in place (or in locations within the guidelines of your national authorities). The aim is to get people moving for their own health and that of others.
