World Heart Day 2021 in Portugal

The Portuguese Society of Cardiology chose as its slogan at World Heart Day 2021 “Cardiovascular prevention – never too soon” as a motto to encourage cardiovascular literacy from a young age. We promoted and endorsed the writing of an illustrated children’s short story focusing on risk factor awareness and presented it in a public reading session involving primary school students and the author on the 29th September. Included in the program, we also had an outdoor exercise class that gathered predominantly senior people who were thrilled to participate. Alongside, we set daylong stands for cardiovascular risk factors screening in a plaza of the host city to this year’s commemorations, Braga.
