I attended the World Heart Federation / World Congress of Cardiology, themed red day on the 6th of May, year 2014. I didn’t pack in this lovely canvas bag any books to read this day we went to the beach, but instead packed a soccer ball, a skip rope, some rackets, a light weighted ball & a frisbee. Exercise doesn’t necessarily need to be at a facility with high tech treadmills, steppers or rowing machines. While that may suit some people, in that this maybe their preference for whatever reason and sometimes there are health & medical considerations where it is better to be at a staffed facility, but for some people simple exercise at the beach is OK. Kicking a soccer ball around, playing badminton, volleyball & just walking or running on the beach is great not only for your physical health but your mental health also. A coffee or hot chocolate on the way home tops off a great afternoon or morning. When I grew up, I lived near a beach, so I always feel a bit stifled in a gym, as I prefer to be outside. Frisbees are superb fun for youngsters and older folk & low cost also.
