WHF has launched a Photo Competition aimed at highlighting the challenges that people around the world face because of cardiovascular disease (CVD), as well as the actions that people are taking to promote heart health and support those affected by CVD.

Photographers are invited to submit one or more photographs depicting the human side of cardiovascular disease. Each photo must be submitted individually via this form. The theme of the photos can be anything linked to cardiovascular disease, including healthcare, prevention and risk factors. In particular, we are seeking photos in the following areas:

  • Healthcare workers (doctors, nurses, community health workers)
  • People living with CVD
  • CVD Prevention
  • Low- and middle-income countries
  • Air Pollution
  • Tobacco
  • Chagas Disease
  • Rheumatic Heart Disease

Photos must be at least 2048×1536 px and should be accompanied by a brief description, the country where it was taken and the name of the photographer. Photos with lower resolution will not be accepted.

The top 20 shortlisted photos will be announced in a press release and featured in a WHF Virtual Photography Exhibition. The three winning photographs will be announced on our website and social media channels on World Health Day 2021. Winners may also have the opportunity for further work with WHF.
