In late August, 2023, I suffered a heart attack at my school the work week before school started with the students. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital. I had double bypass surgery to repair two arteries that were blocked. (100% and 99%.) I really had no symptoms like shortness of breath, tightness in my chest, or pain down my left arm. The only thing that was strange to me was having this strange metallic taste come up and make me feel like I had to vomit. It happened a few times. The last time was at school and I went to the nurse/office immediately.

After the surgery i committed myself to working hard at getting healthier, stronger and losing some weight. I was at 233 when I entered the hospital Two years and a couple months later I am still holding a 190ish pounds. (Down over 40.) I walk several miles daily! It’s a new life I was blessed with and I want to keep it!
