The World Heart Federation (WHF) was proud to attend the renowned European Society of Cardiology Congress, which was held in Munich, Germany on 25-29 August.
At the event, WHF had a World Heart Day (WHD) themed booth with a photo-booth, which was a huge success and attracted hundreds of people to our stand – nearly 500 photos were taken! We also had placards that people could hold up to make “heart promises”, building one of the strands of this year’s WHD campaign theme ‘My Heart, Your Heart’. WHF Members, Board members, current, future and past presidents all visited and took photos, bringing the WHF spirit to unite the cardiovascular world at the booth.
Aside from the booth itself, the Membership team had the pleasure to visit WHF members who were present and had time for a chat, to deepen the ties and relationship, which is part of the WHF membership strategy to deliver more value to members. Important meetings were also held with members and partners about current and future projects, including the second meeting of the WHF RHD Taskforce.
The most important highlight was that on Tuesday 28 August, ESC and WHF announced the joint congress planned for 2019 in Paris, which was followed by an informal reception organized by WHF. You can read more here.
WHF would like to thank everyone who came to our booth to take photos and engage with us, as well as the members that took the time to welcome us at their stands for interesting discussions. We look forward to hearing about your initiatives which we will promote and seeing you at upcoming events!
