On 3-4 March, the World Heart Federation and the Philippine Heart Association convened a multi-stakeholder group of experts and speakers in cardiology, neurology and family medicine to identify roadblocks to and solutions for better management of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cholesterol at patient, physician and health care system levels in the Philippines.
The speakers and participants worked towards developing a plan of action to improve the management of cholesterol in the Philippines, including concrete steps that can be taken in terms of multisector partnerships, screening programmes, and education and awareness campaigns for at-risk patients, primary health practitioners, and the general public.
The roundtable is part of a series of successful events held in Colombia, Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Kenya to advance cardiovascular health.
