We use heart for humanity
I'm grateful to God for another opportunity to be alive to contribute my part to this year world heart day.
I want to say thank you to world heart federation for given us a platform to make impact in our community.
On 29 September I and my team Nurse (Olanrewaju Adeyinka, Thomas Numthas, Donald Agadigha , Josephine Mark) and Dr David Agbawn was able to contribute to world heart day by reaching out to undiagnosed people in our community.
This year outreach was sponsored and hosted by care cycle pharmacy at panadrive zone 7 Dutse Abuja, Buhari area council in the north central part of Nigeria , the pharmacy is under the leadership of pharmacist Adeola Oshanupin.
On before the event, series of online lecture were given on heart health awareness platforms to sensitize people about heart health.
On the day of the outreach which was on 29 September, we are able to attend to 40 people, to our surprise, a quite number of people have not for once check their blood pressure nor blood sugar level before, until that day .
The people who were newly diagnosed were allowed to see a Dr ( Dr David Agbawn) a senior registrar at National Hospital Abuja.
The event was successful and ended exactly 4:0pm Nigeria time.
On this note, I hope more sensitisation can be done more frequently in Nigeria because of the surge of death caused by stroke is alarming in Nigeria .
