WHD 23 in Mangalore, India
The day began with taking my heart print from Philips guidable health solution a digital health app devised to estimate heart health using PPG signals. The report reminded me of the World heart day theme "Use heart and know heart", I was pretty clear not to take my heart for granted and to take care of it well :-p. I was involved as a Senior instructor in the training of Homeopathy medical interns and post graduates from Father Muller Homeopathy Medical College at Father Muller Skill and Simulation centre on the JeevaRaksha trust Basic care and life support course which teaches them hands on training on identification of cardiac arrest and performing CPR. I went as an observer and trainer to AJ Institute of Medical Sciences for their JeevaRaksha Emergency care and life support course for Medical interns and Post graduates and the day concluded with me being part of CPR training for Gym trainers and gym goers of Mangalore at Fitwood fitness centre. It was a public health initiative conducted free of cost by Department of Biochemistry and Department of Community Medicine of Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore to make people aware and respond to cardiac arrest at fitness centres as Cardiac events and sudden cardiac death was a major public health issue in these centres.
