Choithram College of Nursing observed World Heart day on 29th September. This year in 2023, the World Heart Day theme was “Use Heart, Know Heart", a reminder call to everyone around the world to take care of their hearts.
On the occasion of “World Heart Day”, Choithram Hospital and Research Centre (Cardiology Department) and Choithram College of Nursing (Medical Surgical Nursing Department) had organized a Public Awareness Program along with Live Radio Show at 56 Dukaan Indore, under the guidance of Principal Dr. (Prof.) Aradhana Michael and Prof. Shweta Pattnaik, (HOD of Medical Surgical Nursing Department) for B.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. Nursing students and all faculty members at 6:00-8:00 pm.
If you want to keep your heart healthy then you have to adopt exercise and ask your family members and children to also adopt this good habit. If children go out to play instead of playing video games, they will remain healthy. Bring all these habits into your lifestyle, only then you will be able to avoid heart disease. This was explained to the people of Indore through street drama on Friday which was performed by B.Sc. Nursing 1st, 2nd & 3rd year students. It was told that it was very important for a human being to have a healthy heart. People should take care of their heart. People should avoid smoking. Take a systematic diet keeping your heart health in mind. Eat a balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein and healthy fats. Maintain weight control and be alert if you are overweight or obese. It increases the risk of heart attack. Exercise daily. Manage your stress. Get regular check-ups done. In the awareness program, doctors taught the people who were present there how to give Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). 80-100 participants attended the program and overall the program was much appreciated by the participants.
