As part of World Heart Day this year, we wanted to celebrate Heart Heroes … people from all walks of life who have shown commitment, courage, empathy and care in relation to heart health. From professionals involved in cutting-edge cardiology research and heart healthcare, to everyday people who have done something to look after their and their loved ones’ hearts.
So for the first time we gave people around the world the chance to enter our Heart Hero Awards by customizing their own posters on our World Heart Day website. We received 778 amazing entries and wish all of them could win an award. But we have to choose just a three and we are delighted to announce the winners below.
Thank you to all our Members and partners who helped us to judge the entries and decide on the winners. We felt that the winning posters were the ones that answered more than one of the following judging criteria:
- An imaginative photo
- A creative message
- A sincere or emotional message
- Potential to impact positively on other people’s heart health
Thank you also to everyone who entered the Awards and created and shared such amazing messages of support for heart health. We will be launching even more Awards categories next year so we hope you try again in 2019!
