Emerging Leaders Programme 2026: Applications are now open

30 Jan 2026

The World Heart Federation (WHF) has announced details of the Salim Yusuf Emerging Leaders Programme 2026, which will take place from 29 November to 3 December 2026 in Florence, Italy. The programme will be hosted by the Menarini Foundation at its House of Sciences in Fiesole.

The 2026 seminar will focus on integrated care for cardiovascular disease (CVD) and multiple long-term conditions (MLTC), addressing the growing global challenge of multimorbidity and its impact on patients, health systems, and communities. The programme will explore how integrated care models, implementation research, digital health tools, community-based interventions, and policy innovations can improve real-world cardiovascular prevention and care.

Established in 2014 by WHF Past President Professor Salim Yusuf, the Emerging Leaders Programme provides advanced training and networking opportunities for early- and mid-career professionals working in cardiovascular health, research, policy, and advocacy. Each year, participants engage in intensive seminars, workshops, and collaborative group work supported by international experts, and develop project proposals aligned with WHF priorities.

Applications for the 2026 Emerging Leaders Programme are now open. The application deadline is Monday 16 March 2026.
