Today, RHD Action is launching its latest publication, RHD Global Status Report 2015-17: People, Policy, Programmes, Progress.
The report was written by the World Heart Federation on behalf of RHD Action, of which WHF is a founding member. It provides a ‘snapshot’ of the people, policies and programmes that are working to prevent and control RHD around the world today. It features interviews with the people at the heart of the RHD community: both those living with RHD and the health workers who care for them.
The report also outlines past and present national, regional and international policies created to combat RHD, and presents fascinating case studies of RHD prevention and control programmes, from countries as diverse as Fiji, India, South Africa, Yemen and Brazil.
The Global Status Report includes a foreword by former Australian Prime Minister and RHD Action Global Ambassador Mr Kevin Rudd, who is living with RHD and is a strong champion of the movement.
