On December 9, 2017, the World Heart Federation and Saudi Heart Association convened a multi-stakeholder group of senior officials from both government and non-government agencies at a workshop in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, aimed at identifying the roadblocks to better CVD management at patient, physician and health care system levels in Saudi Arabia.
Participants included the National Heart Center, Non Communicable Diseases Directorate, Saudi Interventional Society of Cardiology, National Guard Cardiac Center, Madinah Cardiac Center, Gulf Heart Association and the Ministry of Defence, under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Health.
The roundtable was effective in stimulating strong engagement and commitment from the many stakeholders in attendance, making this the third successful roundtable on Cholesterol, following similar events in Colombia and Spain.
