The World Heart Federation (WHF) participated actively at the XXVIII South American Congress of Cardiology (Cardiosur 2018), hosted by our members the South American and Peruvian Society of Cardiology in Lima, Peru from 28-30 June 2018.
WHF Board members engaged in various sessions on the first day, 28 June at the two joint symposiums. One was on ‘Adherence to essential medicines and its impact on CVD prevention’ where President David Wood, Dr Jagat Narula and Dr Daniel Piñeiro contributed. Another symposium was related to ’25 x 25: its impact on global cardiovascular health’ in which President Wood and Dr Piñeiro also took part. President David Wood also made a keynote speech on ‘Preventive cardiology – principles and practice’ which was very well received.
On the same evening of the 28 June, the Inaugural Ceremony took place. WHF was honored to speak and present a Certificate of New Membership to the South American Society of Cardiology and a Certificate of Appreciation to the Peruvian Society of Cardiology for their generous hosting of the WHF Board Meeting on the 29-30 June.
