WHF participates in the XXX Central American and Caribbean Congress of Cardiology / XI Cuban Congress of Cardiology

The XXX Central American and Caribbean Congress of Cardiology / XI Cuban Congress of Cardiology took place in La Habana, Cuba, from 5 to 8 June 2018. It was organized by the both the Central American and Caribbean Society of Cardiology and our member, the Cuban Society of Cardiology. There were approximately 800 doctors and health care professionals who participated.

WHF was represented by our president David Wood who took part in the inaugural speech on “Global challenges for prevention of cardiovascular disease” and presented on “CVD prevention and rehabilitation – review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials”. President Wood and Dr Daniel Piñeiro, our Board Member, also contributed actively to the ” 25×25 Symposium towards the Sustainable Development Goals 2030: its Impact on Global Cardiovascular Health”.

In this meeting, the Central American and Caribbean Society of Cardiology and our member, the Cuban Society of Cardiology also welcomed their new president Dra. Claudia Almonte from the Dominican Republic. We applaud her new mandate and look forward to continue working together.
