DR M K Shah Medical College marks WHD23 in India

We organised an exhibition to spread awareness about heart disease. When patients enter the exhibition, they are given information about why WHD is celebrated and the magnitude of the problem. They are then given a form to know their hearts and various risk factors. There was also an audiovisual room to learn about the heart, prepared by resident doctors in the local language. We gave knowledge about risk factors, the rule of halves, cholesterol intake and exercise, and the glycemic index. The interesting part was to know their heart age. We got a very good response for this awareness activity.
