World Heart Day 2024 Celebration by the Egyptian African Heart Association (EAHA) 🫀
The Egyptian African Heart Association (EAHA) celebrated World Heart Day 2024 with a dynamic two-day event, held under the esteemed patronage of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and the Administrative Capital for Urban Communities (ACUD). This year’s celebration marked a significant collaboration with Mount International School, enhancing community engagement and awareness around heart health.
A press conference at ACUD headquarters in the New Capital featured key figures including Eng. Khaled Abbas, CEO of ACUD; Prof. Ahmed Ashraf Eissa, President of EAHA; Prof. Moheb Magdy, Vice President of EAHA; and Dr. Rania Elwany, Board Member of EAHA. The conference outlined an exciting agenda of activities designed to promote cardiovascular health.
The First day:
commenced with a vibrant 5-kilometer marathon that attracted 300 participants, emphasizing the importance of physical fitness in heart health. This was followed by light entertainment, fostering community spirit and engagement.
The Second day:
was dedicated to medical outreach at Mount International School, where comprehensive cardiac check-ups were conducted by leading cardiology consultants. A total of 165 medical examinations, including ECGs and echocardiograms, were performed, along with corresponding lab tests for the same number of participants. Concurrently, a CPR training session on basic life support and first aid was conducted for 60 candidates by Prof. Tarek Elkholy, alongside engaging sports activities such as swimming and squash.
At the end of the day, the Iconic Tower, Architectural Masterpiece, was lighted with the red colour as Our symbol of the World Heart Day.
Special acknowledgments are extended to the ACUD board members—Eng. Khaled Abbas, Eng. Hanan Heikal, and Mr. Khaled Elhusainy—for their invaluable support. We also thank Mount International School and its board members—Mr. Diaa Omar, Eng. Hussam Omar, and Mrs. Sherwet Adel—for their sponsorship and commitment to this crucial initiative. Additionally, heartfelt appreciation goes to the EAHA board , Sport Events and RM for their dedication to promoting heart health through impactful events.
The World Heart Day 2024 celebration not only highlighted the significance of cardiovascular health but also showcased the collaborative efforts between government bodies, educational institutions, and healthcare organizations in building a healthier community.
