Uganda Heart Research Foundation marks WHD23
Uganda Heart Research Foundation in Collaboration with Kiruddu National Referral Hospital Invited members of the sorrounding community through radio announements, social media, houses of worship and local market gatherings, to come to the hospital gounds on the World Heart Day for free screeing for hypertension and diabetes. A totla of 289 participants responded and were checked. Out of these, 56 participants were found to have very high BP and were given treatment for free as well as advice on the next steps. Two perticipants had maligninant hypertension with dizziness & blurring of vision; and were admitted right way in the hospital.

All in all, we positively intervened in the lives of these 56 people who did not know how serious and risky their blood pressure had gone out of control.
