Las enfermedades cardiovasculares son responsables de casi un tercio de todas las muertes en el Sudeste Asiático, matando a 4 millones de personas cada año.
Además de la hipertensión arterial y una dieta poco saludable, la contaminación atmosférica es uno de los principales factores de riesgo de ECV en la región, ya que es responsable de casi el 17% de todas las muertes y del 28% de las relacionadas con ECV.
